CGS Records is housed in the historic RCA Victor building in the heart of Nashville’s Music Row. We are an independent record label that features what we like to call, "Outlaw Gospel" music. The term outlaw in the context of country music, and now gospel music, simply means nonconformist. We do not conform to any particular musical sound, formula, approach, or any other music business “norm.”

CGS is an acronym for Common Ground Sound. The mission of CGS Records to develop, produce, release and send artists who have a sincere mutual respect, love, and appreciation for the fact that we all have roots in common ground. It is our aim to share the light of our truth in non-judgmental, non-discriminatory ways, and demonstrate light in the darkness.
